The journey of Camp Gondwana is closely connected with the vision of Suman Manna, a wildlife enthusiast and conservationist with more than 25 years of experience exploring and understanding India's forests. Having spent years observing wildlife, guiding travellers, and working closely with nature, Suman dreamed of creating a place where guests could experience the wilderness while developing a deeper appreciation for the natural world.
From Barren Land to Green Habitat
When the land was first selected, it offered little more than dry scrub and tired soil. Instead of seeing its limitations, Suman saw an opportunity to restore it. Native trees were planted, the soil was nurtured, rainwater was conserved, and the land was gradually allowed to heal naturally. With time, greenery returned, wildlife found new spaces to thrive, and the once-forgotten landscape began to come alive.
